I saw Harry Potter last week. This message contains spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie, do not read this. All the red writing is spoiler. Spoiler- In the movie, nineteen years after the big battle at Hogwarts, I thought they made Harry and Ron looked much older, all they did with Ginny is poof her hair, and give her age lines, and Hermione, well they just dulled her hair. The movie was Phenomonal, and I think everyone should see it. Love, PEAS

Too Hard

I was drawing on my note pad for 5 minutes last night, and it hit me. I have no idea whatsoever how to design an app. I would have to pay someone, thus taking away from the money to get the iPad I was trying to earn money for in the first place! I do not know how app designers do it. Plus, I am legally not old enough to get a job, so I have no way of making money. I can't mow lawns; people have all ready taken care of that. I can't wash cars; I would have to buy wax which would take away from getting money. Send me ideas if you have any. See ya. PEAS

The Grant

I am writing a Proposal to Mr. Steve Jobs. Here it is:

Dear Mr. Steve Jobs,

I am writing a grant. I am proposing that I will make an app, sell five hundred of them, (selling each for a dollar) to pay off for an iPad 2, which you will give me in advance. Your products are much more advanced than Bill Gates. I am borrowing a Macbook Pro from The University of Utah, only for this summer. It is cool, but I want the more, “high tech” products.

I have dreamed of writing this letter to you for four years. I will get the new app to you by August of 2012. I will buy my own accsessories for the iPad, such as the Smart Cover.

You must know, I am Twelve years old, going into 7^th Grade, have no phone of my own, and no iPod. For school, at home we need Microsoft Word, or your cooler version, Pages. I will use my iPad with Pages for schoolwork. Our computer at home; an old Windows XP is slow, and it does not have Microsoft Word. To close, I hope you can read this and accept. The Whole Enchilada

School is finally over! I Bawled my eyes out, and when we got home, and asked Calvin if he cried, and he said, and I quote, "I felt like I was crying on the inside." That make me feel just plain stupid. I walked over to my reading teacher, Mrs. Schmidt, and gave her a big hug. We were both in tears. My Friends, Olivia, Keira, and Julia, all gave me hugs to make me feel better. Today was Sunday. Sunday was awesome. I fasted for the Homeless lady on Temple Square to be able to get food, and for lunch, I gave her an apple. It made me feel happy. Right now, I am not missing my hometown Tucson, AZ. That is where I was born. Here, the high in temperature was 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Can you guess the high for Tucson AZ? The high was.... 103 degrees Fahrenheit.

Welcome spring! Glad to have you here! Today looks promosing, but it's Utah weather, and it's 7:oo in the morning, so I can't really tell. One more week of school left, I know DUMB!!! Most schools in other states got out last week on friday, but nope, not us. One of our family's best friends just got a resturaunt named CusCuss(Koos-Koos) it is AMAZING Mediteranian food with lamb spaghetti, and my mom is making cupcakes, and selling them there! See ya!

Snow? Really?

Ok, This is crazy! It is Monday, May 30th, almost June, and it snowed! Only a tiny bit but still. We are all mad here! There are pros and cons to living in Utah. First, you get the chance to meet apostles, and counselors, and if you read my Mom's Blog, "Lindsey's Lomonade, " you would see that as we where walking down to Dick's Market Place, in the entryway to the building, my parents spotted Elder Eyring. He shook hands with us, and said congradgulations on me getting the priestood soon. Second, this is the wettest year we have ever had in Utah, and we have lived here for seven years! Ok, I'll stop pestering you all with !Mother Nature's Problems! See y'all, Bye!(PS-the blog will be managed by me, Preston from now on.)

Hey Preston here! We have all been caught up in life, and have not blogged on this blog for Two Whole Years! We are now in the year of 2011 and it is time to start fresh. I will Update our blog. I will change our name. I deleted my blog because you have to be 13 or older to create one. Same with Facebook. See y'all! I got new glasses last week, my mom says they remind her of glasses that she wore when she was my age. Here is a picture.

2009 Start and Wrap-Up

Mercy, has it actually been an entire year!? Well, what can be said. We still put on our pants one leg at a time. Ryan and I kissed on Valentines Day, we watched fireworks on the 4th of July, and we ate Turkey on Thanksgiving. You fill in the gaps. As for Christmas and New Years, we headed South to the Old Pueblo and partied hard for a Smith reunion, Calvin's Baptism, and two baby blessings. Check out the pictures.

Air Hockey Christmas

Merry Christmas All! What a great year this has been! Gift highlights have been too many to name (thanks to you all,) but the kids have really enjoyed the air hockey table we got them. Reasons why an air hockey table is well worth the space it takes up:

1) You don't have to chase anything (like a flying ping-pong ball)

2) You don't have to have any skills to play. Keep your little paddle thing down close to defend your goal, and you will eventually get to hit the puck.

3) An intense game that includes a wee bit of trash talk can raise your blood pressure, thus providing you with a cardio workout.

4) I can play my hardest, without holding anything back on my oldest, and I am not guaranteed a victory.

5) For the past 4 days, I've heard my children say "Hey, let's go play some air hockey!" instead of "Do you want to watch a show?"

6) I have yet to beat Ryan, but after winter break, I will have the "home advantage," the "stay-at-home Mom advantage." Laundry/dishes/sweeping vs. Air hockey. Air hockey will win every time.

Baptism for Victor

For those of you who are not LDS, in order to join the church, investigators take their time learning and growing until they are prepared to make a covenant (promise) manifest through baptism and confirmation.

We have become good friends with Victor Rodriquez over the last year as he has been investigating the church, as he has come over for lunches after church, and for discussions with the missionaries, etc. I am the ward mission leader have become quite close to Victor personally. The story of Vic's change and making a decision to lead a Christ centered life is beautiful and miraculous. On Saturday Vic was baptized into the LDS church and was confirmed today in sacrament meeting. We are so proud of Vic for this huge step in his life.

If any who reads this blog are interested in learning more about the LDS faith, please let us know. It has brought much peace and joy into our lives as well as giving us a sense of purpose. During this Christmas season, what a joy it is to remember the birth of Jesus, who changed the world forever by allowing us to be free from sin and death.

Lies and Deception

The last 6 entries have been written by my husband, pretending to be me. For the record, I love the snow. I just don't like slipping on the ice, attempting to maneuver my not 4W or AW drive mini van, dressing children in snow gear, being snowed in when we are out of eggs and milk, and being cold. I think the snow is beautiful, and like the song "Come, Come Ye Saints," it should be used sparingly. I think it womps that we aren't going back home to AZ for Christmas, I would way rather travel anywhere than create meaningful cyber relationships, and I barely know how to turn on the computer (our stinkin MAC), much less actually paste a photo into the blog entry. There it is, truth and honesty.

Christmas in Utah

I hate the snow. I don't like driving in it wondering if I am going to be sliding down the hill any minute. I don't like bundling up the kids every time we have to run an errand or they want to go out and play in the yard. I don't like the lack of sun for days at a stretch. And being from Arizona, I really do not like the cold. But one thing I do very much love is the aesthetic of winter. Downtown in Salt Lake City during Christmas is one of the most beautiful scenes. The lights against the snow with people coming and going is very delightful. They are not only at temple square, but at Gallivan Plaza, the Gateway, and line the streets all over the downtown area.

We have been doing secret santa to a family in our neighborhood. The kids love the suspense of running up a treat each night and hurrying back to the car. We end each night with a story about Christmas from a reader. This year we are staying home, making our own traditions and enjoying one another. The neighborhood also looks great with lights. This time of year is all about reflection. I found facebook and now I am reconnected with people I had completely forgotten about. It is interesting how the web is making life more meaningful for many people. Maybe class reunions will go by the way side in favor of longer term, less expensive relationships that stretch across states and countries.

Being nostalgic and sappy at this Christmas Season.

Annie and Scissors

I found Annie with scissors for the second time in her young life. She was actually sitting next to me while I was working on the computer and I heard that all to familiar sound of scissor slicing through hair. The first time she had done this I as able to salvage it by giving her a bob. This time I salvaged it (relative) by giving her bangs. I will be amused if she grows up to be a hair dresser.

Today I got most of my Christmas shopping done. Merry Christmas everyone.

Fun with Mac

Calvin having fun with the iMac. Owen has been sick for two weeks. He is not sleeping well and it is all I can do to not fall asleep during the day. My parents came for Thanksgiving and we really enjoyed being with them. Christmas is upon us. Finally, for the first time in our 10 years of marriage, we put up lights on our house. The kids got out the ornaments and we put the tree up as well. Luckily it has not snowed yet, but it will be coming. Ryan leaves about the time it is getting light and comes home when it is dark, but this is because the sun wakes at 8:00 and retires around 5:00.

We play "let's get ready to rumble!" every Sunday afternoon. Lou surprised all of us when she came out with briefs on like Nacho's "stretchy pants". Annie and the boys followed in suit.

Halloweeners

It has been a busy couple of weeks. Simon turned 5, had a Halloween Birthday party and weighs all of 31 lbs. Annie turned 3, had a Cookie Cocoa Birthday Party and is tipping the scales at 23 lbs. Both of them are adorable and will probably need growth hormone therapy. Cool. This week Owen has had pink eye, croup, a wicked cold, an ear infection, and cut 2 teeth, what a little Champion! He is 6 months now and is like a little puppy.

Halloween came and went at the Smiths. We had a bumblebee, Dora the Explorer, Spiderman, Indiana Jones, and a Vampire/Werewolf (it changed several times throughout the day.) I was a 1950's Tuperware Saleslady. This is a simple costume and requires very few things = high heels, pearls, an apron, Tuperware. All in all, it was a wonderful day, and what childhood magic is made of. Most importantly, my little beggars returned with a gold mine of Snickers Bars, my personal favorite.

Iron Chef Bountiful

In an effort to waste time and money I started a new club for my neighborhood. It is called Iron Chef Bountiful. It's a female cooking group that meets the first Tuesday of the month at 8 PM (hopefully after the kids have gone to bed.) The theme for the year is "World Tour". When you host you get to choose the country that everyone's dish is supposed to be based on. The group started last month. Because of the Olympics the theme was Chinese food. We actually vote on the entries and the top three chefs take home a trophy, gold silver or bronze. September's country was India. I made vegetable samosa with mint yogurt dipping sauce, and I totally got the bronze!! Unlike when I was on Family Feud and our family took second, and when I ran a marathon and took home the third place medal for my age group, there was actually more people that could have beaten me out. We have had about 12 people come to each group. Next month's theme is Italian, and I can taste the garlic already. Good times. BTW - I made the trophies from blocks of wood and painted them gold silver and bronze. My photo is with bronze. On top of the trophies I had Ryan write "congrats, yummy" in Korean for an global flare.

That's right friends, school has started. Preston just began 4th grade and Calvin started 1st. They are both in school full time Monday through Friday. Translation: I now have time to spend with the other three who are at home. Simon begins preschool on Wednesday at Simon Says Preschool with his teacher Mrs. Simon. Mom says he is going to love it. Annie Joy is my little helper and Owen can't move yet, roll over, crawl or go away. Right now he is my BFF. Ryan started teaching this week as well. Neither his mind or his body cooperated. On Thursday Annie, Simon, Owen and I had to pick him up at the University on a rescue mission. We made several stops on the way home so he could examine the curb.
